Heating Your Home With Kiln-Dried Logs

Here at D Price & Sons we know how important it is to fuel your home, even when fuel prices are so high. That's why we stock an assortment of logs, ready to throw on the fire. From softwood to hardwood we have the ideal wood logs to heat your home. We have the option of both standard and kiln-dried logs available to buy online today.

What Are Kiln-Dried Logs?

Kiln-dried logs are pieces of wood that have been fired in a purpose-built kiln. The purpose of heating the logs is to remove impurities and preserve more fuel without burning away the important fibres along the wood. Heating the logs dries out the moisture that is held inside and helps to preserve the log itself so that it can be stored for a long time.

Increasing the efficiency of the logs not only helps preserve them but it is also more friendly to the environment. We typically use kilns to dry out the wood, because leaving them to air-dry could take up to six months before the logs would be ready for efficient burning.

Kiln Dried Logs

For those who do not have the luxury of time or space to store your logs until they are dry, we offer a selection of kiln-dried logs, in either softwood or hardwood. These logs are ready to go and help to reduce the smoke that you would typically be produced if you burn damp wood.

Standard Logs

We also have a selection of standard logs available in both soft and hardwood.

You can accompany your log order with a bag of kindling or household coal to increase the temperature and longevity of your fire.
